How do I start scanning?

There are two ways to start scanning In2event tickets or accreditation items. You can use a scanning device or use the In2event mobile app.

1. Connect a scanner to the In2event platform

Within the event, head on over to Mission Control > Settings > Scanner settings

Click on 'Add scanner' and fill out the requested details.

  • Reference: an internal use name for this scanner
  • Way of scanning: In this case, choose 'Scan using an external screen'
  • Type: What sort of things will you be scanning?
  • Scanner settings: In what way do you want to use the scanner?

Click on 'Next step'.

Now you'll decide what exactly the scanner will be scanning and is allowed to approve.

  • Event date(s): If you have, for instance, set the scanner to check-in people, for what dates is the scanner allowed to approve barcodes on entrance tickets? Select the applicable date(s) here.
  • If you've selected that you'll be scanning people:
Crowd type: Select which crowd type(s) you want to be scanning.
  • If you've selected that you'll be scanning access zones:
Zones: Select at which zone(s) this scanner will be scanning
  • If you've selected that you'll be scanning accreditations:
Accreditation item(s): Select which items you want to scan.

Click on 'Next step'.

The scanner is now added and ready for scanning.

Click on the icon behind the scanner settings (the one in front of the edit icon and the garbage icon) and keep this screen open when you scan the vouchers or wristbands. At 'Reports' you can see exactly how much has been scanned after the event.

2. Scan through the In2event app

It's also possible to use our in-house developed scanning app.

On your mobile device, download 'In2event scan'.

On your laptop or PC, open the event's Mission Control and head on over to Settings > Scanner settings.

Click on 'Add scanner' and fill out the requested details.

  • Reference: an internal use name for this scanner
  • Way of scanning: In this case, choose 'Scan using the app'
  • Type: What sort of things will you be scanning?
  • Scanner settings: In what way do you want to use the scanner?

Click on 'Next step'.

The mobile device can now be connected to the platform. Click on the first icon behind the scanner settings. A QR code will now appear. Use the app on your mobile device to scan that QR-code and you're ready to go!

Please note: We've created the app mainly to enable you to tackle high-volume moments with mobile phones, as backup, and for our PDA scanning devices. If you are planning to solely use the app with mobile phones, make sure you have chargers or powerbanks nearby. Normal phone batteries won't be able to scan all day.
